Night Care Team Member

Night Care Team Member: 

Night Shift Care Team Assistant  • This role is ideal for someone who values meaningful work, flexible scheduling, paid professional training, and the chance to build a rewarding career in the funeral service profession.  This position is an on-call night position (5:00 pm – 8:00 am).  Excellent opportunity for college students or others who desire their days to be free.

Licensed Funeral Director/ Embalmer

Licensed Funeral Director/ Embalmer:  

A leading family owned funeral home in Western Kentucky is seeking a current Kentucky Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Candidate must have leadership qualities, at least 3 or more years of funeral directing experience, and the ability to work in a multi-location, team environment. The candidate’s expected responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: arranging and conducting all aspects of funeral services, embalming and excellent communication skills. Compensation and benefits are commensurate with experience.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

· All Aspects of Funeral Service

· Working with Funeral Home Managers and owners  to accomplish goals and objectives while working within company guidelines

· Assist families with the arrangement process and direct funerals

· Willingness and ability to make removals and perform preparation room duties

· Responsible for the daily delivery of goods and services to at-need families

· Willingness to assist with families/services at other facilities

· Involvement in the community to promote the growth of funeral calls

· Maintain a safe work environment

Job Requirements

·  Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in good standing with the appropriate state regulatory agency

·  Must be able to work some nights and weekend shifts

·  Willingness to improve customer and employee satisfaction

·  Ability to communicate effectively

·  Excellent phone and communication skills

Funeral Director Apprentice:

Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented individual seeking a meaningful career where you can truly make a difference during life’s most difficult moments?  Our funeral home is looking for a dedicated Funeral Director Apprentice to join our caring and professional team. This is a rare opportunity to learn the profession from experienced licensed funeral directors while providing genuine support to families in our community.About the Role:

As an apprentice, you will receive hands-on training in all aspects of funeral service, including:

  • Assisting with funeral arrangements and consultations with families
  • Preparing for and coordinating visitations, services, and burials/cremations
  • Learning embalming and restorative art techniques (training provided)
  • Supporting families with grief resources and aftercare
  • Transportation, paperwork, and administrative duties
  • Maintaining the dignity and respect of the deceased at all times

This is a full-time position with a structured apprenticeship program leading toward full licensure.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in psychology, sociology, or business a plus)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, maturity, and emotional resilience
  • Professional appearance and a calm, respectful demeanor
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call
  • No previous funeral service experience required — we will train the right person
